The Role
As a Principal Mechanical / Marine Engineer, you?ll have a role that?s out of the ordinary. You?ll be responsible for the design, build, assembly and maintenance of the next generation of Royal Navy vessels.�

Day to day, you?ll author and review mechanical and marine system designs through calculations, simulations, commissioning and diagnostic testing.

• Lead and manage design teams through the design lifecycle�
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of key engineering outputs�
• Act as technical authority�
• Develop innovative design solutions with robust engineering substantiation�

This role is Full Time site based at Rosyth with a hybrid working arrangement.

Experience required of the Principal Mechanical / Marine Engineer

• Expert knowledge in Mechanical / Marine Engineering�
• Ability to use finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics
• Ability to understand and use 2D and 3D CAD Packages�
• Leadership experience preferable�
• Defence background beneficial but not essential�

Qualifications for the Principal Mechanical / Marine Engineer

• Degree qualified in relevant subject�
• Member of relevant institution preferred (RINA, IET, IMechE, IMarEst etc)
• The successful candidate must hold or be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
